Energy Conservation

Electrical energy conservation is also an eco-practice embraced by VWP.

Natural approach

Primarily due to the fact that years ago there was no “power” in place, we continued the natural “rustic” approach of being off the grid. The buildings do not have air-conditioning or heating systems. Natural light through windows are the main source of lighting while evening lighting systems include low-wattage, high-efficiency light bulbs and electronic motion sensors.

High-efficiency appliances include refrigerators, a steam dishwasher, propane stove and tankless water heaters used for all hot water amenities. Tankless water heaters are very energy efficient because they only heat water as it is needed, passing through the unit on demand.
The following list of eco-practices of our Programme delivery touch upon major areas that people can readily relate to. From our “signature piece”: the birch bark Montrealer canoe replica (which people immediately identify as VWP), our environmental “flagship” fully depicts zero emission, sustainability and links the past to the present eco-practices; To the commitment to carry it through to the last detail and incorporate it into every aspect of our everyday lives.
